Name of the Project
GranMorgu – Block 58 development.

Location
About 150 km off the coast of Suriname

Project Owner/s
Integrated energy company TotalEnergies is the operator of Block 58, with a 50% interest, alongside hydroexploration company APA Corporation (50%). Staatsolie, Suriname’s national oil company, has the option to enter the development project with an interest of up to 20% upon a final investment decision.

Project Description
The project will develop the Sapakara and Krabdagu oil discoveries, on which a successful exploration and appraisal campaign was completed in 2023. The fields hold recoverable reserves estimated at more than 750-million barrels.

The project includes a system of subsea wells connected to a floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) with an oil production capacity of 220 000 bbl/d.

The FPSO is designed to accommodate future tie-back opportunities that would extend its four-year production plateau. The project will leverage best-in-class technologies to minimise greenhouse-gas emissions, with a Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity below 16 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent per barrel of oil equivalent.
